Shenandoah University’s Department of Occupational Therapy is accepting applications for a Visiting Faculty Role in the OTD Program. This is a full-time benefited position located at our Health Professions Building in Winchester, Virginia.

Position Responsibilities

As a full-time Visiting Faculty Member, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of occupational therapy leaders. This is a hybrid faculty position with regular on-campus responsibilities. Faculty are expected to be present for Tuesday classes and laboratories, as well as for faculty meetings, experiential learning activities, service responsibilities, student events, and other program needs that may occur on non-class days.

Required Qualifications

• Education: An earned doctoral degree (e.g., OTD, PhD, EdD) awarded by an institution accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist.
• Credentialing: Current National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification and eligibility for/possession of an active occupational therapy license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Core Competencies: Evidence of effective communication, collaboration, professional responsibility, and commitment to student learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience at the post-baccalaureate level, particularly within a hybrid or online educational framework.
• Documented expertise in one or more of the following areas: pediatrics, neurological rehabilitation, or mental health.
• Active membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
