Job Description:

SUNY Polytechnic Institute\'s College of Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing. The successful candidate will teach courses for students in our Doctorate of Nursing Practice\'s Psychiatric Mental Health program, engage in research and scholarship, and take part in university and professional service. We are eager to hear from candidates with demonstrated commitments to both teaching and research, and a commitment to advancing SUNY Poly\'s strategic plan and our mission, vision, and values.

Description of Duties:

  • Teach courses in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice\'s Psychiatric Mental Health program (didactic, clinical, and online formats).
  • Provide academic and clinical advising to DNP/PMHNP students.
  • Supervise and mentor DNP scholarly projects.
  • Engage in scholarship and service commitments.
  • Maintain a program of scholarship (research, practice inquiry, or evidence-based practice).
  • Engage in clinical practice as appropriate to maintain certification and expertise.
  • Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities, and program evaluation.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned

Salary Ranges: Assistant Professor $90,000 - $95,000 / Associate Professor $95,000 - $105,000 / Professor $105,000+

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree or ABD or DNP in nursing from an accredited institution. Doctoral candidates must demonstrate a reasonable expectation of completing the DNP or PhD within one year of employment.
  • Current national certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Unencumbered RN and APRN license (or eligibility) in NY state.
  • Active clinical practice experience as a PMHNP-BC.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of scholarship with potential for sustained contributions.
  • Prior experience with DNP program development, leadership, or accreditation (CCNE).
  • Experience teaching in online or hybrid learning environments.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching at the graduate level.
