Job Description

We are offering a 9‑month tenure‑accruing position that will be 70% research (Florida Agricultural Experiment Station) and 30% teaching (College of Agricultural and Life Sciences). This appointment is in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department and is expected to emphasize human nutrition, metabolism, and related fields. The faculty member will develop and sustain a strong, extramural research program focused on human health and disease, deliver quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels in both online and in‑person formats, and participate in student advising, committee service, and extension outreach.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a research program on human nutrition and metabolism, securing extramural funding and publishing in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutritional sciences, using both online and in‑person modalities.
  • Supervise undergraduate, graduate, thesis and dissertation, and postdoctoral research.
  • Advise undergraduate students and chair graduate student committees.
  • Serve on graduate and other institutional committees, contributing to curriculum revision and enhancement.
  • Participate in university extension activities to disseminate research findings to the public.
  • Engage in professional development related to teaching, mentoring, and scholarly communication.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in nutritional sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated research record with publications and scientific presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate internally and externally and to sustain extramurally funded research.
  • Commitment to the Land‑Grant mission and UF core values.
  • Postdoctoral experience (preferred).
  • University‑level teaching experience (preferred).
