Job Summary

The Department of Criminal Justice at The University of North Georgia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at the Dahlonega campus to support its graduate programs including the Master of Science with a major in Criminal Justice and the Ph.D. in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Intelligence. The workload may require travel across campuses and teaching on distance learning platforms.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Sociology with a Criminology emphasis, or a closely related field is required.
  • Area of specialization is open but should support the existing graduate curriculum.
  • Experience teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level.
  • Experience advising graduate students on research and scholarship.
  • Experience with online learning platforms (such as Brightspace/D2L).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all campus constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as a graduate program coordinator or experience with other administrative responsibilities related to graduate programs.
  • Ability to support and add to the existing MSCJ and PhD Curriculum.
  • Strong background and experience in advising graduate students with thesis or dissertation development.
