Augusta University’s Medical College of Georgia (MCG) invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Anatomic Pathology. We seek board-certified or board-eligible individuals with AP/CP training and subspecialty interests.

Responsibilities include surgical pathology sign-out, frozen section coverage, subspecialty sign-out, autopsy duties, and teaching, with a focus on scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent with AP or AP/CP training and American Board of Pathology board certification or board eligible.
• GA state licensure. Credentialed to practice at Wellstar MCG Health Medical center.

• Participate in general surgical pathology sign-out service.
• Provide frozen section, evening, weekend and holiday call coverage.
• Participate in subspecialty anatomic pathology sign out service (based on fellowship training/experience).

• Perform/supervise and sign out adult autopsies on a rotation basis.

The Department of Pathology, Section of Anatomic Pathology at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University invites applications for a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. We are seeking an anatomic pathology or anatomic /clinical board certified or board eligible individual with subspecialty training and/or experience. The successful full-time Pathologist will participate in general surgical pathology sign-out service. Provide frozen section, evening, weekend and holiday call coverage. Participate in subspecialty anatomic pathology sign out service (based on applicant's fellowship training/experience and/or interest). Provide subspecialty anatomic pathology consultations and represent pathology at subspecialty tumor boards. Perform/supervise and sign out adult autopsies on a rotation basis. Required Qualifications

MD, DO or equivalent with AP or AP/CP training and American Board of Pathology board certification or board eligible. GA state licensure. Credentialed to practice at Wellstar MCG Health Medical center. Subspecialty interest or fellowship training and/or experience.

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.

Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

• Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
• Evidence of ability as a teacher;
• Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
• Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
• Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
