Job Description:

The College of Health Professions-School of Movement andRehabilitation Sciences at Bellarmine University invitesapplications from qualified candidates for one 12-month facultyposition, term or tenure-track eligible, at the Assistant Professoror Associate Professor level. This new position will join a department of 15 dynamic core faculty, a diverse team ofexperienced adjunct clinical faculty, and highly supportive anddedicated administrative staff. Successful candidates will supportthe University's vision and mission, commitment to service andhospitality, and the intellectual, ethical, and moral developmentof all students. Academic rank and faculty appointment arecommensurate with qualifications and expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned courses in the physical therapy curriculum withdevelopment and delivering course materials using evidence-informedand student-centered teaching methods
  • Advise and mentor students on academic progress andprofessional development
  • Establish and maintain an active research agenda, including theengagement of students in scholarly activities
  • Disseminate peer-reviewed scholarly work
  • Serve on departmental and university committees
  • Contribute to student learning and program assessment,strategic planning, and accreditation efforts
  • Participate in student recruitment, admissions, and program promotion activities
  • Engage in professional service through organizations such asthe American Physical Therapy Association
  • Maintain clinical competence and, where applicable, activeclinical practice
  • Integrate current clinical expertise into teaching andmentoring
  • Maintain licensure and certifications as required

Requirements:
  • Terminal academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DHSc, DSc) from anaccredited institution, terminal academic degree is in progresswith expected graduation within one year, or DPT with ABPTScertification.
  • If a physical therapist: Licensure in a United Statesjurisdiction as a physical therapist and eligible for licensure inKentucky.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship, at a minimum, invitedpresentations such as poster or platform at professionalconferences. Publications in peer-reviewed journals, authorship ofbooks or chapters, and grant activity will be considered as higherforms of peer-reviewed scholarship.
  • Experience mentoring students in research, either formally orinformally.
  • Experience teaching in an academic environment, at a minimum asadjunct faculty. Higher consideration may be given to those withprevious full-time faculty experience.
  • Strong background in contemporary practice and teachingexperience in: oncology, lymphedema, cardiovascular and pulmonary,acute/critical care, musculoskeletal examination, or biophysicalagents.
  • Preferred ABPTS board specializations include: ClinicalElectrophysiology, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Sports,Wound Management
