Job summary

The New York Institute of Technology is looking for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Anatomy to teach clinical anatomy and mentor graduate students. The chosen candidate will develop a productive research program and actively pursue funding.

Job description

Assistant/Associate Professor, Anatomy

Location: US-NY-Old Westbury

Responsibilities
  • Teaching: team teaching clinical anatomy to NYITCOM medical students and graduate courses in the newly approved Integrative Anatomy PhD program; mentoring graduate and professional students in research, including master's and DO/PhD students.
  • Develop and maintain an independent, productive research program and actively pursue extramural funding to support research activities and graduate student training.
  • Participate in service to the Department of Anatomy, the College of Osteopathic Medicine, NYIT, and the broader scientific and professional community.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in anatomy or a related discipline (evolutionary or paleobiological geological sciences), defended prior to the start date.
  • Substantial teaching experience, record of extramural research funding, or research expertise complementing the department’s strengths is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in anatomy, neuroanatomy, or embryology is preferred but not required.
