The School of Biological Sciences, Departments of Cell and Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, and Neurobiology, hereby announce a search for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant rank, or tenured Associate or Full Professor level in the field of Transformational Biological Technologies, capitalizing on recent institutional investments at UCSD in cryoelectron microscopy and the Goeddel Family Technology Sandbox. Candidates using cutting-edge technologies including cryoelectron microscopy, cryoelectron tomography, mass spectrometry, light microscopy, and/or other technologies to advance mechanistic understanding of fundamental problems in molecular, cellular, developmental, or neuronal biology are encouraged to apply.
Required faculty responsibilities include developing an excellent research program supported by extramural funding, teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and participating in service activities. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level with experience and/or interest in leadership in collaborative research programs, core facilities, or at the department or school level are particularly encouraged to apply.
