Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and UW are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level. The appointment is on the Clinician Scholar track with protected research time and on-site activities at Fred Hutch.

The successful candidate will lead clinical research in myeloma and plasma cell disorders, contribute to teaching, and participate in fellowship supervision.

Qualifications

Job description

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level (without tenure due to funding - WOT) in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch and the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine at UW (joint appointment). The academic appointment at UW will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Faculty with 12‑month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12‑month period, with one month available for paid time off.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the Clinician Scholar track and will have protected time for research, teaching, and mentorship. They will be expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders, and to develop their own clinical research programs.

Teaching responsibilities will involve oversight of advanced practice providers and fellows during inpatient and outpatient rotations, and delivery of informal teaching sessions and formal lectures to providers and the general medical community.

Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on‑site at Fred Hutch.

Anticipated Start Date: July 2026

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a record of and primary interest in hematology and hematological malignancies, as well as an active clinical research interest, as demonstrated by peer‑reviewed publications, in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders. Applicants must have an MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent), board certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology (or foreign equivalent), and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.

Salary and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $315,000 to $335,000 for Assistant Professor, $350,000 to $375,000 for Associate Professor, and $385,000 to $400,000 for Professor. This position is incentive eligible. Pay is based on a variety of factors including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. This position is eligible for relocation assistance or a sign‑on bonus.
