Job description

The Brown University School of Public Health (SPH) is seeking to hire an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor for a tenure-track position focused on maternal-child health. This position will carry an appointment in any one of SPH’s four Departments – Health Services, Policy & Practice; Behavioral and Social Sciences; Epidemiology; or Biostatistics – with an expected, though flexible, start date of July 1, 2027.

There is special interest in researchers focused on maternal health, but researchers across a range of interests pertaining to parents and parenting, child (birth through adolescence), and family health are encouraged to apply. The faculty member hired to this position will engage in a combination of research, education, and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to sustain and grow an externally funded research program relevant to maternal and child health; work collaboratively with faculty and trainees across the university; and address key public health problems that affect parents, children, and families. The emphasis of this person’s research is expected to focus on domestic issues, though talented researchers with a global health focus will be considered as well. Examples of content areas of interest include, but are not limited to, lifecourse transitions; perinatal epidemiology; patterns of chronic illness across the lifecourse; social, economic, and structural inequities, and social drivers of health.
