Job summary

The Effron Center for the Study of America at Princeton University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in any field within the Humanities and Social Sciences, across geographic areas, to advance Native American and Indigenous studies on campus. The program will support undergraduate teaching and collaborative research.

Ph.D. is required; candidates must show a strong publishing record and a commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Job description

The Effron Center for the Study of America at Princeton University is undertaking a search for a tenure-track or tenured faculty member in any field in the Humanities and the Social Sciences, and across all geographic areas, as part of a major effort to advance Native American and Indigenous studies in teaching and research. This position will support the establishment of the new Program in Native American and Indigenous studies on campus, broadening and deepening curricular offerings and research opportunities. Appointments will be made in The Effron Center for the Study of America. The Effron Center is a collaborative hub of interdisciplinary scholarship housing the programs in American studies, Asian American studies, Latino studies, and Native American and Indigenous studies. The successful candidate should be prepared to work with students, faculty, and alumni to promote and sustain a vital, innovative, and intellectually expansive community for Native American and Indigenous Studies, and collaboratively engage with the center's other programs.

Ph.D. required. Candidates must demonstrate research excellence and a strong publishing record, commensurate with their rank, and be committed to undergraduate teaching.
