Job summary

The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology seeks a scientist for a tenure-track faculty position in Genetics at the University of Florida College of Medicine. The appointee will explore roles of DNA repetitive elements in neurological and neuromuscular disease and conduct research in gene expression, functional genomics, and systems biology.

Qualified candidates must hold a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in biomedical sciences or a related field.

Job Description

Member of the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Mandatory must hold a PhD, MD or MD/PhD in biomedical sciences or a related field of study. This tenure/tenure‑track position, at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Genetics, focuses on the roles of DNA repetitive (tandem and interspersed repeats) sequence elements in neurological and neuromuscular disease. The faculty will conduct research in genetics areas such as gene expression and regulation, functional genomics and systems biology, developmental genetics, immunogenetics, molecular mechanisms of disease, evolutionary genetics, and other related fields that synergize with existing programs. Expected Salary

Annual salary range is $150,000 – $230,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
