UC Davis Health in Sacramento, CA, seeks an accomplished academic urologist at assistant, associate, or full professor rank to lead in endourology and various subspecialties. The Department of Urologic Surgery supports a 5-year residency, with a busy academic practice and a level 1 trauma center.

The incumbent will contribute to teaching, research, and clinical duties, including call coverage, while advancing scholarly activities and service within UC Davis Health.

Competenze

The candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise and proficiency in all aspects of endourology, including the surgical and medical management of stone disease.

The successful candidate will have the foundation, preparation, and vision to pursue a productive and fulfilling career in academic urology. The candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise and proficiency in all aspects of endourology, including the surgical and medical management of stone disease.

The candidate will be expected to contribute actively to the educational mission of the department through teaching, mentorship, and supervision of a diverse group of learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, and PA/NP students. The candidate will also engage in clinical and/or translational research, with opportunities for protected research time to support the development of a successful scholarly program.

In addition, the candidate will contribute to the academic mission of the department through scholarly activities, participation in educational conferences, and other opportunities that advance the field of urology. Participation in appropriate professional societies and educational organizations is encouraged and expected. The candidate will also provide service to departmental and school committees in support of University and public service missions.

Participation in call coverage and general urology clinical responsibilities will also be expected.

The incumbent must foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment that fosters team science and multi-disciplinary patient care, adhere to University policies and procedures and be sensitive to the needs of patients from diverse backgrounds.

This recruitment is being conducted at the assistant, associate, and full professor ranks. The resulting appointment will depend on the candidate's background, experience, and qualifications.

The salary range for this position is $346,267 - $765,311. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are legally authorized to work in the United States. The University will not offer sponsorship of a visa for this position.

Qualifications (Basic Qualifications At Time Of Application)
  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Board certification/eligibility in Urology
  • California medical license or eligible for full and unrestricted licensure in the State of California
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills to perform all aspects of endourology
  • Evidence of teaching experience in a diverse environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency to perform clinical research
  • Evidence of professional and/or scholarly achievement and activity
  • Evidence of publications of scholarly work in medical literature
Additional Qualification (required At Time Of Start)
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited endourology fellowship

The Department of Urologic Surgery at UC Davis Health is a busy academic practice with expertise encompassing all areas of urologic surgery. We have an accredited 5-year urologic surgery residency and matriculate 2/3 residents per year. UC Davis Medical Center is located in Sacramento, CA, and is the main tertiary referral center and the region's only level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center. The hospital has 660 licensed beds, with busy inpatient and outpatient surgical facilities.

Located approximately 90 miles inland from San Francisco, Sacramento is culturally diverse, technologically advanced, and the fastest growing city in California. Home to the state capitol, Sacramento is also the political hub for California.
