Job description

Position

Title: Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (tenure-track). Appointment: IU Indianapolis School of Science, tenure home in one of six departments (Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, Psychology).

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.

Position Summary

The School of Science (SoS) and the newly established IU Convergent Biosciences and Technology Institute (CBATI) invite applications for tenure-track faculty in proteomics and allied fields. Candidates will lead innovative, interdisciplinary research, collaborate across the Institute, teach undergraduate/graduate courses, and engage in service to the University and community.

Key Research Focus
  • Translational Omics and Biomarker Development: expertise in proteomics, lipidomics, glycomics, metabolomics, or next‑gen sequencing to identify clinically actionable biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
  • Technology Development: creation of mass spectrometry, nanometre‑scale, or other omics technologies that advance clinical and precision medicine applications.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and sustain a nationally and internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program aligned with SoS and CBATI missions.
  • Collaborate across the School and Institute to address critical bioscience challenges.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the home department.
  • Mentor and advise students, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
  • Participate in service activities within the Department, School, Institute, University, and broader Indiana community.
