Job summary

The Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk (ARC) invites applications for Assistant Assessor to join its executive leadership team in San Bernardino County. This role assists in planning, directing the operation activities of the Valuations and Assessment Services Divisions, including real property and business personal property valuations, assessment roll processing, appeals, and special properties valuations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher is required or equivalent.
• Advanced Appraiser's Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization is preferred; progressive experience in commercial/industrial valuations is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, presenting, and administering the annual operating budget for the office.
• Analyze proposed legislation to determine impact on operations; formulate proposals for the County's legislative program.
• Conduct research studies, develop policies, and justify organizational changes as required.
• Provide administrative oversight within the Valuations Division which appraises all taxable property in the County.
