Local10 is seeking an experienced assignment editor to manage the desk, set up interviews, chase viewer tips, and edit/post content across multimedia platforms. You will research leads, run agency checks, and handle viewer calls while ensuring accuracy and ethical standards.

You will engage audiences on social media, respond to reader feedback, and contribute to weather and breaking news coverage. A minimum of 2 years in news assignment editing is required; college degree preferred,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years news assignment editor experience.
• A college degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field is preferred.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and deal effectively with last minute deadlines.
• Grasp of Spanish/Creole languages helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manning assignment desk in various capacities.
• Setting up interviews and following-up on viewer phone calls.
• Researching information and leads, making agency checks, handling news tips and story ideas, posting on all multimedia platforms.
