Job summary

ESPN is seeking an experienced coordinator to manage IP-based transmission for live coverage, coordinating crews and feeds across platforms. The role requires swift reaction to breaking news and seamless collaboration with production and tech teams to ensure timely content delivery.

You will leverage deep knowledge of fiber/satellite/cellular transmissions and social media clearance to support editorial decisions and optimize logistical planning for major sports events.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a television-related field.
Depth of knowledge in fiber, satellite, cellular, FTP, and viral newsgathering procedures.
Assigns and coordinates movement of IP-based transmission devices.
Clears social media content for ESPN platforms.
reacts immediately to breaking news and requests; pursues story-related materials in a timely manner.
Collaborates with ABC NewsOne/ABC affiliates, as well as other networks, on breaking news stories.
Gathers and enters transmission information (satellite, fiber, cable) for televised games.
Works well in a team setting, shows initiative and problem-solving skills; takes direction from assignment desk management, coordinating producers, news editors, producers, and senior editors.
Stays informed and up to date on sporting events and has above-average sports knowledge.

Hire camera crews and arrange feeds and/or transfer of content
Strategize and organize movement of IP-based transmission devices for coverage
Coordinate efforts of freelance and staff producers and production/technical personnel for ESPN platforms
Handle ancillary crew needs, such as parking, credentials, phone lines, and permits
Understand basic rights and clearances issues
Participate in strategic editorial and logistical planning of coverage
Act as the liaison between the Assignment Desk and Media Assets, Media Operations, and Transmission
Gather and communicate content for use on ESPN platforms
