Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a loss prevention professional to prevent and reduce loss from bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities while maintaining safety and corporate policies. The role supports the Kroger family in safeguarding assets across multiple states, with emphasis on external theft prevention and incident reporting.

Ideal candidates have retail security or law enforcement experience, a passion for safety, and the ability to train and communicate effectively with associates.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice required or equivalent.
• Retail security experience and law enforcement background preferred.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities.
• Reduce shrink and improve margins while following safety and legal requirements.
• Deter and detain external theft suspects as needed and report incidents to the asset protection manager.
• Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
• Promote and follow company initiatives and maintain confidentiality.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a combination of relevant education and experience
• Minimum 18 years of age/21 years of age in Alaska
• Ability to pass a drug test
