Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a Loss Prevention professional to help prevent and reduce loss across stores in Washington. You will patrol for theft, investigate incidents, and support enforcement of corporate policies with a focus on safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a Bachelor's in criminal justice, and experience in retail security or law enforcement. You must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, overtime, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
• Retail security experience or law enforcement background.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Detect, deter and arrest external theft suspects.
• Reduce dishonesty by enforcing company programs and policies.
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores and report incidents to asset protection manager.
• Provide credible court testimony when required.
• Train and communicate security procedures to associates.

Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. • Bachelors degree in criminal justice
• Retail security experience
• Law enforcement experience
• Ability to continue education
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a combination of relevant education and experience
• Minimum 18 years of age/21 years of age in Alaska
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
• Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
