Job summary

Five Below is seeking an hourly Loss Prevention associate to safeguard guests, associates, and assets while maintaining a positive shopping experience. You will monitor activities, assist management with policy enforcement, and respond to incidents on the sales floor.

The role requires solid communication, basic security knowledge, and the stamina to stand for long shifts, including nights and weekends. Competitive starting pay reflects market norms.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• 1–2 years retail Loss Prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Able to work nights and weekends to retail needs.
• Stand/walk the sales floor for 8 hours.
• Lift and carry 20 lbs.
• Regular time and attendance is essential.
• Able to work independently.
• Understand Five Below policies and procedures.
• Have general product knowledge in key departments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction / investigations.
• Work with General Manager to ensure policy adherence.
• Maintain the employee entrance area where applicable.
• Track all packages delivered via employee entrance.
• Conduct store physical security checks and recommend loss prevention measures.
• Perform figure 8 checks in store and move through operations/safety.
• Provide a visual presence at entrances/exits with courteous interaction.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction / Investigations
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure that all employees are following policies and procedures
• Responsible for maintaining the employee entrance, where applicable.
• Keep track of all packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conducts Store physical security checks and makes recommendations for ways to prevent loss
• Performs figure 8's in store and is constantly moving throughout store Operations / Safety
• Provide a visual presence at the entrance/exit through courteous and professional interaction with customers.
• Conduct Safety Inspections and Communicates hazards to store management
• Greets Customer as a Five Below associate.
