Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a dedicated Asset Protection professional to maintain a safe shopping environment and protect assets across stores in Michigan. You will conduct surveillance, inspect premises, and respond to incidents while documenting actions for potential litigation.

You will collaborate with store leadership, review security reports, and participate in investigations. The role requires vigilance, integrity, and the ability to testify in relevant proceedings as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect building exterior/parking lot to identify hazards and mitigate risk.
• Conduct backroom and sales floor walk-throughs and ensure safety standards.
• Review cashier exception reports and security logs for anomalies.
• Perform internal and external theft surveillance.
• Follow up on theft activity reports and assist in prosecution where applicable.
• Engage in shoplifting surveillance and document incidents meticulously.
• Report safety hazards to store leadership and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Test and inspect camera equipment and alarm systems for reliable operation.
