Arc70 is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join its Portfolio Management team in Burlingame, CA. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience working in real estate asset management for a developer or operator and familiarity with affordable housing. This role will report to the firm’s Head of Portfolio Management.

Arc70 is an investment management firm based in Burlingame, CA that is focused on financing affordable housing across the U.S. The firm has financed the preservation or creation of over 47,000 units of affordable housing since inception. Arc70 manages over $5.1 billion in affordable housing related investments and works with notable and sophisticated long-term investors. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified individuals to hit the ground running and contribute to the firm’s impact while working alongside highly accomplished principals and investors. This person will be a critical member of the team and will be involved in key aspects of the business.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor the portfolio’s assets and report financial performance and key metrics. Review financials and adjust reported results
• Communicate with borrowers, servicers, and property managers to provide updates and recommendations to senior management
• Conduct site visits, provide critical updates and recommendations, and execute the turnaround and stabilization of asset operations
• Evaluate capital expenditures prioritizing return on investments
• Work with the underwriting and investment team to transition to asset management and execute any post-closing plans
• Monitor the construction process and conversion of assets to stabilization
• Enforce and execute lender remedies
• Create a business plan for asset turnarounds and dispositions
• Review receivers, property managers, and contractors to take control of properties and stabilize operations, establish deficiencies, and maximize collateral value
• Drive efficiencies in operational costs
• Support ongoing asset, portfolio, and risk management efforts across multiple funds
• Work closely with senior management to drive continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of affordable housing asset management experience, ideally including operationally complex, transitional, or value-add assets
• Experience with project-based Section 8, HUD programs, and LIHTC is strongly preferred
• Strong problem solving skills, resourceful, and comfortable operating with incomplete information
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate well
• Ability to travel to properties in Arc70’s portfolio
• Strong attention to detail and quantitative / financial modeling skills
• Works well in high pressure environments and adapts to various deadlines and deliverables
• Fluency in Excel/Powerpoint and property management software
