Job summary

Ameriprise Financial invites applicants for a 10-week Technology Internship in the Asset Management Technology Data Enablement team at our Boston office. You will work on real projects, gain hands-on experience with Ameriprise tools, and build a network with other interns and leaders.

We seek a current junior pursuing a BS in CS/related field, with strong organization, collaboration, and communication skills, and a genuine interest in technology. Completion by 2028 is expected.

Qualifications

• Current junior at a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Information Science, IT Infrastructure, or related field.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

About the Role

Ameriprise Financial has a global Technology team delivering technology solutions to support the evolving needs of our clients, advisors and employees. As a Technology Intern, you are assigned to a specific Technology team for the 10-week summer internship. Technology internship teams and responsibilities vary each year.

For the 2027 summer internship program, we are seeking one intern to join the Asset Management Technology Data Enablement team in our Columbia Threadneedle Investments team in our Boston office.

How you'll spend your time...

As a Technology intern, you will gain hands-on experience to Ameriprise tools, applications, and technologies while contributing to solutions that support the team's goals and priorities. During the summer, you'll connect with other Technology interns and LDPs on a regular basis to foster community and build your professional network. At the end of your internship, you will present an overview of your internship and accomplishments to our Technology leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Define business requirements
• Develop, document, test, and modify new or existing code
• Develop working knowledge of Ameriprise systems, processes, data, and vendor tools
• Learn and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to the software development life cycle
• Learn new programming languages
• Identify opportunities for process improvement or automation
• Participate in Agile team ceremonies

Required Qualifications

• Current Junior at a 4-year university pursing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Information Science, Information Technology Infrastructure, or related technical field.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028
• Interested in gaining broad experience in Technology
• Proven organization skills and ability to manage time effectively
• Ability to work and communicate collaboratively and constructively with others
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
