Job summary

The Scion Group LLC in Chicago, IL is seeking an Asset Management Associate to optimize portfolio performance in a fast-paced, corporate setting. You will lead on-site asset inspections, analyze redevelopment ROI, model capital improvements, and support budgeting and investor reporting.

Traveling up to 20% may be required, with a base salary in Illinois pay range and bonus eligibility depending on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in real estate finance and analytics; prior asset management in commercial real estate preferred.
• Advanced analytical skills and ability to convey complex data to management and partners.
• Advanced financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of properties within the portfolio to understand opportunities and risks.
• Provide analytical support to determine ROI of redevelopment prospects and capital strategies.
• Create financial models to justify major capital improvements and repositioning ROI.
• Complete periodic reporting on capital projects and retail lease performance; assist investor packages.
• Track local retail market trends and work with brokers to improve portfolio occupancy.
• Negotiate retail LOIs, TI scopes, insurance, rents, CAM, concessions, and tenant services.
