Job summary

Stockbridge is seeking an Asset Management professional to support senior managers on the West Coast. You will perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, build financial models, and participate in property visits and market tours.

The role requires 3–5 years real estate/finance experience, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to mentor Analysts while collaborating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution, real estate/finance as a focus preferred.
  • 3–5 years real estate/finance experience with portfolio analysis, valuation, cash flow forecasting, acquisitions or asset management.
  • Proven analytical skills and strong MS Office proficiency, including Excel/Argus.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication abilities; ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to mentor Analysts and work both in teams and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial models for property valuations, dispositions, recapitalizations and waterfalls.
  • Assist with annual budgets and business plans for properties.
  • accompany Asset Managers on property visits and market tours.
  • Develop relationships with third-party managers, brokers and JV partners.
  • Prepare Investment Committee materials for dispositions and capital approvals.

Job description

This Asset Management role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to industrial outdoor storage (IOS). This role will work on a collaborative team directly supporting Asset Manager(s)/Vice President(s) on target markets and will work closely with the Asset and Portfolio Management Teams and occasionally with the Acquisition Team. The portfolio will cover the West Coast. This is both a qualitative and quantitative position, strong math and written skills are necessary. There is a lot of room for growth and development for the right candidate!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial models for internal property valuations, dispositions, recapitalizations, lease analyses and waterfalls for joint-venture investments. Assist in preparation, review and execution of annual property budgets and business plans
  • Accompany Asset Managers on property visits and market tours
  • Provide oversight and develop strong relationships with third-party property managers, leasing brokers and joint-venture partners
  • Work alongside owner’s construction representatives in the oversight of ground-up construction and redevelopment opportunities
  • Prepare presentation materials for Investment Committee including disposition and capital approval memos
Skills and Competencies:
  • All candidates must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, with preferred degrees in real estate, finance, business, accounting, economics or related area. Must have strong academic credentials
  • 3-5 years of real estate/finance experience, preferably including one or more of the following: portfolio analysis, commercial real estate valuation, cash flow forecasting, acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, debt
  • Proven analytical skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of discounted cash flow analysis in Argus Enterprise and/or Excel required
  • Strong writing skills as well as verbal interpersonal/communication skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Skillset and ability to run an assignment with little supervision
  • Ability to mentor Analysts
  • Ability to function both in a team-oriented setting and independently
  • Strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility, and entrepreneurship

Compensation:

Competitive. The base pay scale for this position is $125,000 to $145,000 annually. Stockbridge’s base pay scale depends on geographic location, business line, years of experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. A discretionary annual bonus is also included in addition to base pay. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and STD & LTD insurance. Stockbridge provides a 401K plan with a match as well as generous vacation, sick time and holiday time off.
