Job summary

Merchants Capital Corporation is seeking an Asset Management Analyst to support Asset Managers in day-to-day loan portfolio management. You will help ensure compliance, regulatory requirements, and accurate financial transactions.

In this role you will provide data input using mortgage software, assist with operating statements, rent rolls, and audit documentation, and collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to manage risks and performance.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ role-related experience preferred (loan administration and/or property management).
  • Proficiency with mortgage software and data input.
  • Strong organization and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work as a team with customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Problem solving and initiative to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Basic understanding of loan portfolio management and multifamily mortgage banking.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS diploma/GED required.

  • Handle other projects as assigned.

Description

The Asset Management Analyst will assist the Asset Managers in the day-to-day asset management of a portfolio of loans. This position will provide loan administration support for the Asset Managers to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met and overall portfolio performance.

Success in this position will encompass exemplary external and internal customer service while performing and maintaining timely, accurate financial transactions and records associated with the portfolio.

Requirements
  • Service, maintain and troubleshoot assigned tasks related to multifamily mortgage loans.
  • Input and maintain data using various mortgage software.
  • Assist with collection and spreading of operating statements and rent rolls to help assess risk.
  • Manage audit confirmations and audit information retrieval.
  • File and maintain necessary online and hardcopy forms related to loan compliance.
  • Support Asset Managers’ interactions with Agency regarding compliance/procedural issues.
  • Process replacement reserve and repair disbursement requests.
  • Other projects as assigned.
Expected Experience, Skills and Education
  • Two years’ role‑related experience preferred such as loan administration and/or property management.
  • Basic understanding of loan portfolio management desired.
  • Basic understanding of multifamily mortgage banking desired.
  • Requires problem solving skills as well as the initiative to troubleshoot and find resolutions.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to identify, interpret and apply applicable guidelines in managing assigned processes.
  • Must possess strong organization and communication skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Requires proficiency in using basic computer software such as Microsoft Office, specifically regarding Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to successfully manage the demands of multiple deadlines while working as a team player with consideration for customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred; high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution required.
