Job summary

Expand Energy seeks an Asset Integrity Technician II to independently execute CP surveys, corrosion mitigation, inspections, and data collection near Mansfield, LA. This field role mentors technicians and leads moderately complex contractor crews with input from senior staff.

Candidates must reside within 60 miles of the Mansfield Field Office and may relocate. The position supports audits, maintains corrosion documentation, and contributes to project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED plus 2 years pipeline corrosion prevention experience.
  • Preferred: NACE CP1 Certification or Corrosion Technologist Certification.
  • Preferred: NACE Basic Internal Corrosion Course - Completion

Responsibilities

  • Participates in internal corrosion prevention efforts and programs.
  • Participates in Federal and State audit efforts and programs.
  • Provides technical guidance and remedial action recommendations, documentation, and timely submission of all compliance-related data.
  • Maintains and submits corrosion-related documentation.
  • Participates in corrosion prevention projects owned by the Field Operations team.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of the corrosion prevention projects budget and reports status to management as required.
  • Independently conduct CP surveys, troubleshoot rectifier issues, and perform minor repairs on CP systems for buried piping, pipelines, and tank anodes.
  • Lead surface preparation and coating application for small to medium projects, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and document results.
  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc inspections, including ultrasonic testing and visual inspections, on fixed equipment, identifying and prioritizing corrosion issues for repair.
  • Collect and analyze MI data, including corrosion rates and wall thickness trends, contributing to inspection schedules and risk assessments.
  • Serve as a developing subject matter expert, providing corrosion‑related recommendations during planning and operational meetings. Mentor Level I technicians in basic corrosion concepts.
  • Lead field data collection for failure analysis, such as photographing failure sites and coordinating sample extraction, with guidance from senior staff.
  • Monitor and maintain corrosion control systems, proactively identifying potential issues and escalating to senior technicians when needed.
  • Lead contractor crews of 4–6 personnel on moderately complex projects, such as multi‑anode installations and recoating sections of piping, developing work plans with senior or lead technician input and ensuring timely execution

Job Summary

The Asset Integrity Technician II is an experienced field role focused on independently executing cathodic protection (CP) surveys, corrosion mitigation activities, inspections, and mechanical integrity data collection. This role supports Federal and State audit efforts, manages assigned corrosion prevention projects, provides technical guidance and remedial action recommendations, mentors less experienced technicians, and leads moderately complex contractor crews with input from senior or lead technicians.

Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within a 60-mile radius of the Mansfield Field Office (1970 Highway 84, Mansfield, LA 71052) to be considered for this position.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participates in the internal corrosion prevention efforts and programs
  • Participates in Federal and State audit efforts and programs
  • Provides technical guidance and remedial action recommendations, documentation, and the timely submission of all compliance-related data
  • Maintains and submits corrosion-related documentation
  • Participates in corrosion prevention projects owned by the Field Operations team
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of the corrosion prevention projects budget and reports status to management as required

  • Lead surface preparation and coating application for small to medium projects, ensuring compliance with specifications. Perform quality assurance checks and document results
  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc inspections, including ultrasonic testing and visual inspections, on fixed equipment, identifying and prioritizing corrosion issues for repair
  • Collect and analyze MI data, including corrosion rates and wall thickness trends, contributing to inspection schedules and risk assessments

Job Specific Skills
  • Knowledge of the various Federal and State pipeline regulations including corrosion control requirements and applicable industry standards
  • Knowledge and practical working experience in facilities and pipeline corrosion prevention methods
  • Proficient in CP survey techniques, NDT methods, and coating applications
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and corrosion data
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Education & Experience

Minimum: High school diploma or GED and 2 years pipeline corrosion prevention

Preferred: Other - NACE CP1 or Corrosion Technologist Certification

Preferred: Other - NACE Basic Internal Corrosion Course - Successful Completion

Additional Qualifications

Ability to possess a valid drivers license
