Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collect and monitor vibration data from rotating equipment using portable data collectors and wireless sensors.
  • Review spectra, waveforms, and trends to identify faults such as imbalance, misalignment, or bearing defects.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations with actionable maintenance recommendations.
  • Maintain vibration databases, equipment records, and technical documentation; communicate findings via reports.
  • Assist in installation and verification of condition monitoring systems.
  • Contribute to other predictive maintenance technologies (ultrasound, infrared).
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and SMEs to evaluate equipment conditions.
  • Participate in weekend duty rotation after training.
  • Follow safety requirements for this industrial environment.

Job responsibilities and tasks

ANDRITZ is seeking a motivated Vibration Analyst to join our Predictive Maintenance and Reliability team.

We are looking for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, curiosity, and a genuine interest in developing a career in vibration analysis and equipment reliability. Previous vibration analysis experience or certification is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical maintenance, rotating equipment, reliability, or related technical fields are encouraged to apply.

This is a hands‑on field position supporting an operating Pulp & Paper facility. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an industrial environment and willing to learn vibration analysis and other predictive maintenance technologies.

The Vibration Analyst will work alongside experienced analysts and reliability professionals, receiving hands‑on technical development while progressively building the skills required to independently evaluate equipment condition and provide maintenance recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and monitor vibration data from rotating equipment, including motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, conveyors, and rolls, using portable data collectors and wireless sensors.
  • Review vibration spectra, waveforms, and trends to identify machinery faults such as imbalance, misalignment, mechanical looseness, and bearing defects.
  • Support equipment troubleshooting and root‑cause investigations, developing actionable maintenance recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate vibration databases, equipment records, and technical documentation, and communicate findings through technical reports.
  • Support the installation and verification of wireless and online condition monitoring systems.
  • Perform or support other predictive maintenance technologies, including ultrasound inspections, ultrasound‑guided precision lubrication, and infrared thermography.
  • Collaborate with experienced Vibration Analysts and Subject Matter Experts on complex equipment conditions.
  • Participate in weekend duty rotation after appropriate training and qualification.
  • Follow all ANDRITZ and customer safety requirements.
Level of Education & Knowledge:
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and interest in rotating machinery.
  • Willingness to learn vibration analysis and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment, independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication, problem‑solving, and basic computer skills.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30% within North America.
Preferred – Not Required:
  • Technical education or industrial experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, fans, bearings, gearboxes, or conveyors.
  • Experience or certification in vibration analysis, condition monitoring, or other predictive maintenance technologies.
  • ISO Category I or II Vibration Analysis certification is a plus.

Physical and Mental Qualifications
  • High temperatures and humidity.
  • Industrial noise and dust.
  • Walking throughout large industrial areas and standing for extended periods.
  • Climbing stairs and accessing different equipment levels.
  • Working around operating industrial machinery while following established safety procedures.
  • Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
