Job summary

The City-County of Butte-Silver Bow is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our finance team. You will work closely with senior accounting and budgeting staff to manage, track, and report key financial activities, with ownership of assigned funds and accounts to ensure accuracy and strong fiscal stewardship.

You will assist with Accounts Receivable, fixed asset monitoring, monthly reconciliations, and preparation of sections of the ACFR related to assets and receivables.

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field is required; Bachelor's degree in in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred; and
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Financial Reporting, Auditing, Budgeting, or Accounting; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Accounts Receivable by establishing and reconciling receivables on a monthly basis.
• Monitor fixed asset purchases in compliance with policies and reconcile the accounting system to fixed asset tracking module.
• Assist in preparation of the ACFR and related compliance reporting.
• Backup to accounts payable and payroll departments.
• Develop and maintain processes to monitor budgets, spending, purchasing controls, and revenue collections.
