Job summary

4P Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced Application Developer II to support Asset Management and Power Delivery enterprise apps for Alabama Power in Birmingham, AL. You will work on AIMS, Fulcrum, and related systems, with strong C#, Python, SQL, and API integration skills.

The role covers database development, data modeling, REST/SOAP integrations, SDLC adherence, and collaboration with business stakeholders in a dynamic power delivery environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional programming or software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Experience with C#, Python, or a comparable object-oriented programming language.
• Strong SQL and database development experience.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design.
• Hands-on experience with REST and/or SOAP API integrations.
• Understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience supporting enterprise business applications in production.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and programmatic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, enhance, and maintain enterprise web, mobile, and business applications.
• Support ongoing development and maintenance of the Asset Information Management System (AIMS).
• Support the enterprise Fulcrum application used for inspections and field data collection.
• Develop and maintain databases, including: SQL development, Data modeling, Schema design, Data mapping, Integration planning.
• Develop and support secure, reliable REST and SOAP API integrations.
• Integrate AIMS, Fulcrum, GIS platforms, and other internal/external systems.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot application, database, and integration issues.
• Manage defects and provide ongoing production support.
• Participate in architecture planning, technical design discussions, code reviews, and SDLC activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, databases, APIs, configurations, and support processes.
• Follow applicable security, performance, scalability, and development standards.
