Summary: The Assessment Counselor is responsible for administering screening and assessment services to inmates during the intake process by interviewing inmates, reviewing case files, and testing scores and preparing assessment reports for determining inmate appropriateness for substance abuse treatment. This staff position assesses referred participants to determine their criminogenic risk/needs and readiness for treatment. They communicate regularly with the GEO program management and supervising agency personnel regarding participant progress, needs, concerns, and issues.
