Job summary

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is seeking an Intake Clinician/Coordinator for the overnight shift. The role involves responding to information requests across human services and direct contact with clients, referral sources, and treatment teams.

You will assess problems, identify resources, make referrals, and provide advocacy as needed. Qualified candidates hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with 2+ years in mental health evaluation/treatment

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology or mental health/human services field required.
• Minimum two years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of mental illness preferred.
• Knowledge of the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Act; ability to work with consumers of any age.

Responsibilities

FULL TIME

The candidate selected will be responsible for responding effectively to requests for information on a wide range of human services needs. The position is responsible for direct contact with potential clients, consumers, residents, referral sources, physicians, clinical treatment team members and case managers. The position in expected to make an accurate assessment of inquirers' problems and needs, identify resources to meet their needs, make the appropriate referrals and provide advocacy when required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or mental health/human services field is REQUIRED. A minimum of two (2) years experience in the evaluation and treatment of mental illness is preferred. Knowledge of the State of Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Act and ability to effectively work with consumers of any age population and demonstrate an understanding of normal growth and development, as well as developmental stages is preferred.
