Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation in Shawnee, OK seeks an Assembly Technician for the night shift (8:00 pm–6:00 am). You will assemble hydraulic motors and components, read routing sheets, troubleshoot issues, and maintain equipment.

The role requires basic reading skills, a high school diploma or GED, and at least six months in manufacturing or a related field. You will work on a fast-paced line, with overtime as needed, and contribute to 5-S initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Ability to read, understand and apply information contained in all applicable documents.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with peers, area supervisor and area engineer to ensure a quality product and internal/external Customer satisfaction.
  • Perform scrap and timecard entries at the end of each shift.
  • Read and use routing sheets, ATS specifications, and assembly/test instructions to properly assemble and test hydraulic motors; troubleshoot issues.
  • Select, assemble, and identify characteristics of parts involving bearings, shafts, seals, spacers, and retainers; inspect parts for defects and adjust for proper fit.
  • Use and maintain all gauging and assembly equipment and perform basic maintenance duties.
  • Keep the work cell organized and meet 5-S requirements; support continuous improvement goals.
  • Adhere to Safety Process and ensure personal safety, including eye/ear protection and machine safety.
  • Assist in achieving departmental and plant goals through teamwork.

Job Title: Assembly Technician / Night Shift (8:00 pm to 6:00 am)

The Impact You’ll Make

Assembles parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a bench, conveyor line, or at an assigned location. Uses hand tools, small power tools, and other special equipment. Refers to technical drawings and written directions. Reassembles or reworks units as required. Provides guidance to less experienced light assembler as needed. High school education or equivalent preferred.

This is a night shift position, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Shift hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Communicate with peers, area supervisor and area engineer to ensure a quality product and internal/external Customer satisfaction.
  • Perform scrap and timecard entries at the end of each shift.
  • Read and use routing sheets, ATS specifications, and assembly/test instructions and booklets to properly assemble and test hydraulic motors. Use routing sheets, operating instructions, and surface appearance templates to properly assemble hydraulic motors & gerolers/geroters. Troubleshoot issues.
  • Properly select, assemble, and identify characteristics of parts involving the pressing bearings, fitting and alignment of shafts, seating seals, spacers, and retainers, and visually inspect parts for defects and adjust/align parts for proper fit as needed.
  • Properly use and maintain all gauging and assembly equipment and perform nsupportive maintenance duties
  • Perform cell housekeeping duties on each shift along with provisional standards meeting 5-S requirements, as well as other tasks necessary to meet other ELS requirements (set-up reduction, CFM, error proofing, etc.)
  • Perform procedures necessary to ensure compliance with the Safety Process and ensure the personal safety of the incumbent including eye safety, hearing conservation, machine safety guards, ergonomic movement, lock out/tag out, SDS procedures, and OHSA regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing departmental and plant goals.
What We’re Looking For
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of six(6) months manufacturing or repair experience in similar production environment, OR have completed Vocational School training, which includes comparable experience
  • Demonstrate basic computer data entry skills
  • Ability to read, understand and effectively apply information contained in all applicable documents
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and any shift as needed, in a teamwork environment
Physical Requirements

Workers may need to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Pushing and pulling objects may be required to move materials or equipment. Stooping and kneeling are necessary for tasks such as assembly line assembly or handling tools. Crawling may be required in certain assembly line tasks. Climbing stairs or moving equipment up and down assembly lines is a common physical demand. Assembly Technicians are required to work in a fast-paced environment. These physical requirements are crucial for the efficiency and safety of assembly line operations
