Job summary

Weatherford is looking for an Optical Technician in Wallingford, Connecticut, to assist in manufacturing and testing fiber optic and electrical components. Responsibilities include assembling, soldering, and inspecting components while identifying non-conforming materials.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and preferably 1 to 2+ years of experience. IPC J-STD-100 certification is desirable. The role may require up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 to 2+ years of related experience in fiber optic and/or electronic assembly is preferred.
• Certification in IPC J-STD-100 is a plus.

The Optical Technician will assist with the manufacturing and testing of various fiber optic and electrical components within a manufacturing environment. Also able to perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor or manager within the physical constraints of the job.

• Follow instructions to maintain workflow in accordance with process cycle process times
• Perform intricate procedures during product assembly process

Experience & Education

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• 1 to 2+ years of related experience in fiber optic and/or electronic assembly

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Good computer skills and Microsoft knowledge
• IPC J-STD-100 certification

Travel Requirement

This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 10%.
