Job summary

Viridi is seeking an Assembly Technician II in Buffalo, NY. The role requires at least two years of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting and a strong mechanical orientation. You will assemble components, read diagrams, and ensure quality while supporting continuous improvements.

The position is on-site with exposure to a fast-paced startup environment. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work on repetitive tasks, following safety protocols and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working in general manufacturing.
  • Strong prior mechanical knowledge, electrical knowledge a plus.
  • Great problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed assembly instructions.
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Has a strong focus on quality control and a strong safety management mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies, utilizing hand tools and/or machines, both in a manual and semi-automated environment
  • Position and/or align components and parts, either manually or with hoists
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, and calling for repairs
  • Interpret technical documents and assembly instructions, such as diagrams, and/or other verbal or written instructions
  • Conduct quality control checks as required to ensure correct assembly and handle defective items according to established procedures
  • Document actions by completing required production and quality forms
  • Participate in daily shift meetings
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing training
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules and regulations
  • Adhere to company accountability standards pertaining to attendance, safety, and workmanship
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

The Role

We are looking for an Assembly Technician II with a genuine passion for excellence and a desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company. The ideal candidate for this advanced position will have at least two years of experience in assembly operations and will be very mechanically inclined. An excellent candidate will be one with a strong focus on quality, with high energy and a passion for learning new skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time in a manual assembly operation
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
  • Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate between colors.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to outside elements when walking to and from buildings.
  • Exposure to loud noises.
  • Possible exposure to electrical hazards and heavy equipment.
Salary
  • $19.50 - $22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
