Job summary

Steffes in Dickinson, ND is seeking a Day Shift assembler to read blueprints, assemble, test, inspect, and package products. You will follow standard work instructions and Kanban flow to meet customer requirements and quality standards.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for long periods, and work overtime as needed for production. A team-oriented attitude and attention to safety are essential for success at Steffes.

Day Shift Hours: 6:00am to 4:40pm Monday through Friday (Fridays as needed for mandatory overtime depending on production needs)

Position Summary: This position is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and packaging products. Must be able to read blueprints and follow standard work and training guides provided for each process or product.

• Follow and understand build boards and Kanban system requirements.
• Report inconsistencies and/or defects in material, product, or equipment.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
• Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Functional & Cognitive Requirements

• This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
• Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
• Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
• Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed.
• This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions
• Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
