Job summary

EOTECH in Tempe is seeking an Assembly Technician to complete routine assembly of optical equipment for military and law enforcement applications. You will follow standard work instructions, gather parts and subassemblies, and perform fastenings with a variety of small hand tools. The role emphasizes safe work practices, daily pre-shift checks, and the ability to sustain physical activity with repetitive motions.

You must be a U.S. Person under ITAR and able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • U.S. Person under ITAR restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble optical equipment by following standard work instructions.
  • Gather parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
  • Fasten parts using hand tools and fastening hardware.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area and comply with safety rules.
  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections and keep equipment in good working condition.
  • Strive to meet safety, quality, cost and productivity standards.
  • Learn multiple assembly stations and adapt to changes as needed.

Position Title: Assembly Technician Department: Operations

Classification: Non-exempt Approved By: Human Resources

Position Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Summary

Performs and completes assembly duties and responsibilities to produce a finished whole good by assembling parts and subassemblies of optical equipment for the military, law enforcement, and hunting communities

Essential Functions
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by following standard work instructions; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
  • Positions parts in specified relationship to each other using general knowledge of product
  • Glues, screws, clips or otherwise fastens parts together using a variety of small hand tools
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintains all equipment and tools in good working condition by performing daily pre-shift inspections
  • Strives to meet all established safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards
  • Continually seeks to improve production methods, equipment performance and overall quality of product
  • Ability to learn a variety of different assembly stations
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)

  • Ability to sustain a high level of physical activity related to repetitive motion, lifting and manual dexterity of equipment and products which weigh up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions which call for multiple different actions based upon product/descriptions, product quantities, product sizes and similar information.
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining production time and quality
EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • 1+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
BACKGROUND PREREQUISITES
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification and reference checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electronics and/or soldering capabilities a plus

  • Must be able to arrive at shift daily and on time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
