Job summary

Power/Mation is hiring an Assembly Technician for our Roseville, Minnesota team. This direct hire, first shift role runs Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm, with regular overtime and full benefits.

The ideal candidate will assemble electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies, read schematics and blueprints, solder and install components, and participate in quality investigations. A 1-year electromechanical background and a 2-year electronics degree are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Two-year electronic technical degree or certificate preferred.
  • Able to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Able to read a ruler (metric) and perform precise measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble or modify electrical and mechanical control sub-assemblies using blueprints, schematics, or written work instructions.
  • Build, fit, solder, and install components using hand tools and measuring instruments; some assemblies require adhesives or epoxies.
  • Perform routine investigations to identify quality, manufacturing, or product performance problems.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce costs.

Job description

Join Power/Mation's Assembly Team!

We have an immediate opening for an Assembly Technician to join our Roseville, Minnesota team! This is a direct hire, first shift position with full benefits available. Regular hours are Monday – Friday from 6:30am-3:00pm, and overtime is available on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble or modify electrical and mechanical control sub-assemblies using blueprints, schematics, or written work instructions.
  • Build, fit, solder, and install components and assemblies using a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments. Some assemblies may require the use of adhesives or epoxies.
  • Perform routine investigations to identify quality, manufacturing, or product performance problems.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one-year electromechanical Assembly experience.
  • Two-year electronic technical degree or certificate preferred.
  • Understanding of basic electronic and mechanical theory for systems to answer technical questions.
  • Able to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Must be able to read a ruler, including metric measurements.
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures and record keeping.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and willingness to interface with customers, vendors, and internal company personnel.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive attitude towards challenges and new ideas.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to continuously move objects near, mid-range, and far.
  • Good field of vision and depth perception
  • Ability to climb, reach, push, pull on a regular basis
