Job summary

Cranefreight is looking for an Assembly Technician to work in Kansas City, MO. This role involves assembling distribution frames based on technical specifications and installing copper and fiber optic cables. An associate degree in electronics or telecommunications along with industry certifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Industry certifications (BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or similar) preferred.
• Experience with specific MDF manufacturers like Siemon, CommScope, or Panduit.

Responsibilities

• Assemble distribution frames according to technical specs and drawings.
• Install copper and fiber optic cables on distribution blocks.
• Perform continuity testing and basic troubleshooting of frames.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Assemble main distribution frames according to technical specifications and engineering drawings
• Install and terminate copper and fiber optic cables on distribution blocks
• Mount and secure distribution blocks, cable management systems, and protective devices
• Perform continuity testing and basic troubleshooting of assembled frames
• Label cables and equipment according to company standards
• Maintain accurate assembly documentation and quality control records
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams on assembly requirements
• Other duties as assigned

• Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Work performed in warehouse/manufacturing environment

Education & Experience

• Associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or related field
• Industry certifications (BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or similar)
• Experience with specific MDF manufacturers (e.g., Siemon, CommScope, Panduit)
• Knowledge of network infrastructure and data center environments
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
