Job summary

Mission Critical Group (MCG) designs and builds custom electrical switchgear and controls for the power generation industry. Under the supervision of the Production Floor Manager, the Mechanical Assembler performs mechanical assembly and installation work on switchgear, following schedules, procedures, and safety requirements.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; relevant experience acceptable.
• Minimum 1 year in mechanical assembly/repair or related field.
• Valid driver’s license; background screening as applicable.
• Preferred OSHA10 and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical sheet metal enclosures and related components.
• Utilize common electrical hand tools and carpentry tools as needed.
• Follow schedules, safety protocols, installation processes, and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and assist with other duties as required.

Job Description

The Mission Critical Group team specializes in designing and building custom electrical switchgear and controls for a variety of applications. We engineer, build, and deploy specialized switchgear and control systems for the power generation industry. We are agile, fast‑paced, and our goal is to provide our customers with clever, cost-effective products and solutions.

Under the direct supervision of the Production Floor Manager, the Mechanical Assembler performs mechanical assembly, and installation work on assigned switchgear at a basic level. The Mechanical Assembler will follow specific schedules and procedures including safety protocol, installation processes, and other instructions.

The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.

• Properutilizationof all common, electrical, and carpentry shop tools
• Assembly of electrical sheet metal enclosures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary or other assigned duties

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR relevant experience
• Minimum of1year in mechanical assembly/mechanical repair or associated field.
• Satisfactory completion ofadditionalbackground screening (if applicable).
• Valid driver’s license
• Preferred certifications (OSHA10, CPR)

Required Skill/Abilities:

• Proper utilization of all common electrical hand tools.
• Self‑motivated and detail—oriented individual.
• Attention to detail because each wire matters.
• Neat and tidy in work done.
• Responsible for personal and area safety as well as general housekeeping.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Standard work week isMonday through Friday, typically40 hoursperweek,overtime may berequired, including evenings or weekends, based on production demands.
• Physical exertion may vary depending on position type. May berequiredto regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch,frequentlystand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
• Assembling may involve manipulating small parts and using hand tools. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential for this job. Comfortable with occasional repetitive motions.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
• Manufacturing facilities can be loud and have bright lights. Subjective to seasonal weather conditions (hot in summer and cold in winter months).
