Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Chattanooga, Tennessee is seeking a Manufacturing Assembly Technician to assemble components and subassemblies in support of production schedules. You will interpret instructions, measure parts and document labor.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, teamwork and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines while using hand and power tools, fixtures, and basic equipment. This position offers competitive pay, 8 paid holidays plus 4 floating holidays, and a range of benefits

Responsibilities

• Assembles products using instructions, BOMs and drawings.
• Interprets diagrams, schematics or other instructions.
• Documents labor via electronic records for each job.
• Maintains quality standards.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
• Identifies defective items and escalates as needed.
• Resolves assembly problems by communicating with peers or supervisors.
• Keeps a safe and clean work environment according to company standards.
• Operates hand tools, power tools, fixtures, drills, pressing equipment and related machinery.
• May perform painting, laser etching, sewing and/or plastic forming as needed.

Fillauer is hiring a Manufacturing Assembly Technician in Chattanooga, Tennessee to produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies to meet production schedules.

Your Impact

• Assembles products using instructions, bills of materials and engineering drawings.
• Interprets technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, or other verbal or written instructions.
• Documents actions by electronically recording labor for each job.
• Ensures quality standards are met.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
• Identifies any defective items and handles according to established procedures.
• Resolves assembly problems by communicating with peers or supervisors.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company standards.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, custom fixtures, drill presses, arbor presses, ovens, heat guns and other light duty equipment.
• May perform painting, laser etching, sewing and/or plastic thermoforming.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Proven experience in assembly
• Good understanding of quality control principles
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and safely
• Good math/analytical skills with ability to use tools/take measurements
• Must work well in a team environment
• Good communications skills
• Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
