Symbotic is seeking an Assembly Technician to perform vehicle integration, calibration, and quality inspections. You will bridge manufacturing, quality assurance, and service execution to ensure all build, repair, and refurbishment activities meet engineering standards.
The role sits in the Autonomous Forklift team and requires strong problem-solving skills, collaboration across functions, and a hands-on approach to complex electro-mechanical challenges in robotics.

TheAssembly Technicianis responsible forperforming vehicle integration, calibration, and quality inspections, while driving ongoing Factory Service and depot repair operations. Positioned withinthe AutonomousForkliftsteam, this role bridges manufacturing, quality assurance, and service execution to ensure all build, repair, and refurbishment activities meet strict engineering standards.
The teamis responsible fordelivering solutions for the storage andretrievaluse cases performed in a fully autonomous warehouse operating 100s of mobile robots at customer sites. The role requires excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in a highly cross-functionalenvironmentsalong with strong technical problem-solving skills and passion to tackle real world challenges in robotics.
Executesphysical vehicle integration, sub-assembly builds, firmware loading, and system calibration for autonomous mobile robots.
Inspectsincoming supplier parts, internally built assemblies, and completed robots against engineering drawings, schematics, and quality criteria.
CoordinatesFactory Service, overhaul, and refurbishment activities on fielded assets returning from customer sites.
Drivesdiagnostic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on complex electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and wiring discrepancies.
Documentsnon-conformance reports (NCRs), inspection gates, and service histories to ensure complete digital data traceability.
Other duties assigned, includingshopfloor5S maintenance, assembly tooling support, and peer training.
High School Diploma orequivalencyrequired; prefer anassociate’sdegree in Mechatronics, Quality Technology, Automotive, or equivalent work experience.
Minimumof2–4years’ofhands‑on experience in electro‑mechanical assembly, quality inspection, heavy equipment maintenance, or robotics environments.
Proficient in reading engineering drawings/schematics and using precision measuring instruments (calipers, inclinometers, multimeters) and wiring repair tools.
Experience with command‑line tools, diagnostic software suites, and digital quality logging/ERP systems.
Strong troubleshooting ability, high attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and adaptability across shifting operational needs.
Up toapproximately0–10% travel may berequiredin support of customer site visits or depot field audits.
Position is 100% onsite at the Austin, TX facility.

Ability to perform job dutiesrequiresstanding, kneeling, crouching, twisting, working in cramped positions, and bending around heavy machinery.
Available to work assigned shifts, overtime, or weekends as dictated by production and service schedules.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $22.60 - $31.21 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
