Job summary

Gestamp is seeking an Assembly Engineer to design, develop, and optimize assembly processes for new and existing products. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, and cost while supporting new product launches and production changes.

The role emphasizes process documentation, tooling, equipment coordination, and continuous improvement through Lean methodologies and KPI monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of manufacturing or assembly engineering experience.
• Experience in automotive, industrial, or high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience with assembly equipment, automation, robotics, and tooling design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement assembly processes for new and existing products.
• Balance assembly lines to optimize labor utilization and throughput.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, scrap, and first-pass yield.
