Job summary

PTI Engineered Plastics Inc. in Michigan is seeking dependable Assembly Operators to support our manufacturing lines. You will operate assembly equipment per instructions and quality criteria, ensuring accurate data is recorded on the forms and that parts meet standards.

Keep work areas clean and organized, work with teammates, and report any damage or safety issues to your supervisor immediately. You will help maintain shop safety and packaging workflows, and you may participate in process

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate assembly equipment per instructions and quality standards.
  • Ensure all information, supplies, and equipment needed are at the workstation and used properly.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Fill out and verify proper documentation per instructions.
  • Work with coworkers and follow supervisor directions.
  • Capable of recognizing conforming vs non-conforming parts using quality criteria.

PTI Engineered Plastics is a leading American custom injection mold and manufacturer of plastic components and assemblies. PTI is a diverse plastic injection molding company servicing the medical, defense/aerospace, and commercial/consumer products industries.

ASSEMBLY OPERATORS ensure quality product is shipped to the customer using established operator instructions and quality criteria and data is accurately recorded on the appropriate forms.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To safely operate assembly equipment per instructions, using quality and set standards per their guidelines, including secondary activities.
  • Operate and respect assembly equipment as per operator instructions specifically for that operation.
  • To assure all information, supplies, and equipment needed are at the work station and are being used properly.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Properly fill out all documentation per instructions.
  • Work together and support co-workers as needed or directed by your supervisor.
  • Capable of recognizing the difference between a quality and non-conforming product utilizing a quality criteria board/instructions.
  • To collect any non-conforming parts that are not identified on sample board, so the criteria board can be updated.
  • Fill out and verify the proper label for the product before placing in on the upper right-hand side of the carton opposite the seam.
  • Report any damage, or safety issues, of any equipment or accident to your supervisor immediately.
  • To help in maintaining the shop’s safety, organization, and housekeeping, including packaging area, at all times.
  • Initiate and recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality system through the appropriate channels.
  • Perform other duties as instructed by supervisor, or as may be necessary to maintain efficient operations.
