Job summary

Howmet Aerospace has an opening for an Operator 2nd Shift in our Tucson, AZ location. The role involves operating machine tools to produce precision parts and supporting the maintenance of facility equipment.

Located at 3724 E Columbia Street, this on-site position requires a High School diploma, strong mechanical aptitude, and legal authorization to work in the United States. ITAR restrictions apply and the shift is Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of tooling setups.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to ITAR which requires U.S. person status.
  • This position will physically require standing, walking, lifting 35–40 lbs, and other manual duties regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints and drawings to determine operation methods and sequence.
  • Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects.
  • Fabricate replacement and new parts for facility machinery.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery.
  • Maintain, clean and secure work area and tools.

2nd Shift hours: Monday - Friday 2:30PM - 11:00PM

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Operate a variety of machine tools, machines to produce precision parts.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings & engineering information to determine methods, sequence of operations in order to fabricate product.
  • Measure, examine & test completed units to detect defects.
  • Fabricate replacement and new parts for facility machinery.
  • Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain facility machinery.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery.
  • Produce, rework and repair various machine tooling within the drawing and specification requirements.
  • Maintain, clean and secure work area and tools.
  • Secure equipment when not in use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to Howmet EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of tooling setups.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

This position will physically require the incumbent to perform duties standing, walking, overhead reaching, lifting (35 – 40lbs), pushing and pulling totes, and leaning over machines, all equally on a regular basis.
