Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company in Illinois seeks an Operations Manager to oversee the Assembly/Contract Packaging facility's production operations. You will plan, direct, and coordinate production workflow, set schedules and deadlines, and ensure safety, GMPs, and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a related industry with supervisory experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Effective verbal communication skills. Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred.
• Above average mathematical skills and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate production work flow; prepare production schedule and set deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
• Maintain daily contact with project coordinators, production team leaders, set-up team, and temporary staffing agency to assure production requirements are met.
• Coordinate production activities with the related activities of other departments.
• Ensure training of plant production personnel; update and maintain training documentation pertaining to production efficiency, safety, GMP's , SOP's, and quality procedures.
• Establish and control conditions in production to achieve maximum efficiency; troubleshoot and resolve problems related to design, production, and quality issues.
• Develop and maintain cost effective efficiency and quality improvements.
