Job summary

RRD is seeking a Line Lead to guide a small assembly team in a climate-controlled plant environment. The role covers daily supervision, safe operations, and ensuring strict adherence to work instructions.

You will train workers, monitor quality, and manage paperwork while maintaining production targets. Overtime and weekends may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead a team in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work a Monday–Friday 6am–2pm shift with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Leads team of assembly workers and temporary employees per work instructions and procedures.
  • Train employees how to perform assigned tasks.
  • Monitor break times to ensure timely return to work areas.
  • Monitor job quality by performing frequent quality inspections and report issues.
  • Complete all required paperwork per procedures.
  • Lead operation of equipment such as shrink wrap, bag seal, label application, etc.
  • Operate pallet jack to move pallets as needed.
  • Label, pack, stack, fold, tape and insert material per instructions.
  • Maintain and meet production and schedule targets.
  • Adhere to quality control procedures.
  • Complete tasks with required operating systems.
  • Communicate effectively with all employees and contract workers.
  • Follow safety procedures and report improvements or concerns.
  • Contribute to keeping the warehouse clean and organized.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training programs.
  • Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Job Description

The Line Lead is responsible for guiding a small team of assemblers, ensuring accurate delivery of and adherence to work instructions. Kind, professional communication, the ability to motivate others, and attention to detail are essential to being successful in this role. The environment is pleasant - clean, climate controlled and relatively quiet. This is an A shift position with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 6a-2pm; overtime may be required sporadically.

Responsibilities
  • Leads team of assembly workers and temporary employees per work instructions and procedures.
  • Train employees how to perform assign tasks.
  • Monitor break times to ensure that employees report back to work areas as scheduled.
  • Monitors job quality by performing frequent quality inspections. Reports issues/problems in a timely manner to coordinator or supervisor for resolution.
  • Completes all paperwork required for the position and maintains it according to procedures.
  • Lead operation of equipment, such as shrink wrap, bag seal, label application, etc.
  • Operate pallet jack to move pallets as needed.
  • Labels, packs, stacks, folds, tapes and inserts material/product per work instructions and procedures.
  • Maintain and meet production and schedule targets.
  • Adhere to quality control procedures.
  • Is able to complete expected tasks with required operating systems.
  • Communicates effectively, efficiently, and appropriately with all employees and contract workers. 2
  • Follows all safety procedures and reports suggested improvements or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Participates in insuring the warehouse is clean and organized and informs supervisor of suggestions or concerns.
  • Participates in periodic staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.
  • Participates in training and development programs as required of the position.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
  • Ability to effectively lead others with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate and promote teamwork on a consistent basis within the department and when assisting in other areas.
  • Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues.
  • Must have an organized approach to task completion and excellent attention to detail.
  • 1-2 years in a warehouse pick/pack fulfillment and distribution environment preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work independently at a fast pace within a team environment.
  • Must be production, quality and process oriented.
  • Must be able to perform basic math.
  • Must possess basic reasoning and problem solving skills. Requires good communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and carry out written instructions accurately.
  • Must be able to understand and follow oral instructions accurately.
  • Have the ability to learn and use basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel product, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must have ability to lift and handle cartons up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 40 pounds on a continuous basis.
  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime when required.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $18.45 to $22.04 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay. RRD offers benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus tuition assistance, maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
