Assembly LeadJob ClassificationJob Type: Full-TimeLocation: Georgetown, TX Office FLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports To: Production SupervisorJob SummaryUnder the general direction of a Production Supervisor, the Assembly Lead plans, prepares and assembles sub- assemblies and final assemblies of all crane products, meeting company standards for quality and quantity. May perform Assembler duties in any work center as required.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow documented procedures to perform safe and defect-free assembly and adjustment of parts and components.Leverage lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.Use hand and industrial power tools for assembly and lifting devices to move heavy components.Be held accountable for completing standard work within a reasonable cycle time.Crosstrain in other work areas and learn new work procedures.Plan workflow and lay out jobs. Inspect parts for adherence to specifications; grind or torch as needed.Fill counterweights, cut and stamp gaskets.Assemble hydraulics and air lines.Locate parts needed for the assembly process. Lubricate and grease parts.Assemble cranes and crane sub-assemblies for standard products, first-run or pilot products in support of and meeting production schedules.Ensure bearings, seals and hydraulics fit and operate according to instructions.Assist in maintaining the flow of work through the department.Ensure production specifications and quality standards are met.Operate and perform final check of finished products.Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.Follow and comply with all safety regulations and practices.Complete all required paperwork.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required).1–2 years of assembly or manufacturing experience (preferred; heavy equipment industry a plus).Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.Mechanical aptitude with proficiency using hand and power tools.Basic math and measurement skills (fractions, decimals, tape measure, calipers).Forklift or overhead crane operation experience preferred (certification/training provided).Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentCore CompetenciesAttention to detail and accuracy.Technical SkillsSafety AwarenessTeamworkDependabilityAdaptabilityContinuous ImprovementPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods during a shift.Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull materials and parts up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance or mechanical devices.Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms to handle tools, materials, and equipment.Visual acuity to read blueprints, work instructions, and inspection tools; ability to detect defects or irregularities in materials and assemblies.Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, hearing protection, and fall protection as needed.Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving cranes, heavy equipment, welding fumes, noise, and varying temperatures.May be required to climb ladders, work at heights, or operate forklifts and overhead cranes with proper training and certification.Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
