Responsibilities

• Read work orders to determine unit or piece to be packed and crated.
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
• Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
• Place products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment.
• Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.
• Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools.
• Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners and hand tools.
• Visually inspect packing to ensure products are secure and protected for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area free of foreign materials.
• Participate in training and cross-training efforts as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $20.75 To $25.00 Hourly

Job Task

The incumbent packs and crates products and materials according to work order requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read work orders to determine unit or piece to be packed and crated
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS

• Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired
• Experience using tools such as industrial shrink wrap, utility knives, box sealing tape dispensers, staple guns, screw guns, miter saw, and drills
• Experience using standard rulers
• Forklift operator experience strongly desired
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
