Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking an Assembly & Test Operator for the 3rd shift (10:30pm–7:00am, Sun–Thu) to perform assembly and testing with minimal supervision. The role uses various gauges and equipment to verify readings meet specifications and requires completing documentation and adhering to quality directives.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, basic math skills, and strong English communication complemented by teamwork.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
• Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic assembly and test functions using hand and power tools, fixtures and inspection equipment in a production environment.
• Hand deburr as required.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated per schedule.
• Produce and inspect assemblies to meet specifications.
• Rework malfunctions disclosed by test data.
• Record test results on data forms.
• Interpret orders, routes, test specs and quality directives.
• Maintain a safe, FOD-free work area; observe safety rules.

Role And Essential Functions:

The Assembly & Test Operator is responsible for performing a variety of simple to complex assembly and test functions with minimum supervision. This position operates the required testing equipment to ensure readings and recorded values are accurate and meet all specifications. An Assembly & Test Operator utilizes all necessary gages and other measuring equipment to ensure that final assemblies meet the customer specifications and other dimensional requirements.

Responsibilities:

Following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

• Perform basic assembly and test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures and inspection measurement equipment in a production environment.
• Required to hand deburr.
• Ensure all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.
• Produce and inspect assemblies for complete conformance to specification.
• Rework malfunctions disclosed by test data.
• Record test results on data forms.
• Interpret engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications and quality directives.
• Observe all safety rules and maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area.
• May be required to run automatic weld machine.
• Perform other related responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
• Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of relative manufacturing experience.
